Development Projects

In 2020, because of the Covid pandemic, FLD helped to develop with Covenant Development Institute (CDI) registered in Myanmar, a project to support the management capacity of the Karen Department of Health and Welfare (KDHW). The project was funded by the Myanmar Joint Peace Fund (JPF) from June to December 2020.

In March 2021, with the political crisis in Myanmar caused by the military coup of 1^st February, FLD and Covenant Development Institute entered into an on-going partnership for the development and implementation of projects in support of people affected by conflict. 

FLD has been fully or partly involved in the design and implementation of several projects :

Ongoing project started in June 2013; funding provided in the first stage of the project by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs (for the gender-component of the project) with assistance of Dan Church Aid. The second stage of the project (June 2014 to May 2015) is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs and DANIDA, with additional funding still being sought. In December 2014 funding was secured from the European Union under its ‘Support to Peace, Reconciliation and Development in Myanmar’ program and designed to cover the cost of EPRP activities focused on Shan State to March 2019.

Duration: 9 months, started in Feb. 2012; self-funded by FLD 

Transparent photographic documentation tracking site visits, community dialogue, and project implementations across Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand.
